Hi! If you haven’t booked Spring Break yet, you’re not alone.

A lot of parents of little kids are Googling “last-minute Spring Break trips with kids” right now and wondering if it’s too late to plan something.

The good news? There are still some fantastic family trips you can pull off without months of planning.

Below are six destinations we’ve personally done with babies, toddlers, and little kids that work surprisingly well for last-minute Spring Break travel — from easy U.S. getaways to one magical Europe option.

1. New York City, New York

New York City is actually one of the best last-minute Spring Break trips with kids because flights are frequent and there are endless indoor and stroller-friendly activities for toddlers and young children.

From playground hopping in Central Park to interactive children’s museums and family-friendly shows, it’s easy to build a short city itinerary that keeps little kids entertained without overpacking the schedule.

When we visited, we stayed at the Home2 Suites by Hilton New York Times Square. The kitchenette and extra space made it a surprisingly practical and affordable option for traveling with kids, and the location made getting around the city simple.

2. Amsterdam, Netherlands

Spring in the Netherlands is famous for tulip season, and it’s truly one of the most magical times to visit. The famous tulip fields and gardens are stunning, but what surprised us most is how family-friendly Amsterdam is with little kids.

Beyond the flowers, families will find urban petting farms, an alpaca eco-farm, playgrounds, and fairy tale theme parks all within easy driving distances of the city. The Dutch also design cities incredibly well for bikes and strollers, which makes exploring with toddlers much easier than many parents expect.

If you’re dreaming about a spring Europe trip with kids, Amsterdam is a surprisingly stress-free choice.

3. Rosemary Beach, Florida

Rosemary Beach is a wonderful last-minute Spring Break beach destination for families with toddlers and young kids, especially if you want an easy Gulf Coast escape.

The town is walkable, bike-friendly, and relaxed, with white-sand beaches, green spaces, and casual restaurants where kids feel welcome. That combination makes traveling with little ones much simpler.

If you can book a condo or carriage house rental with a kitchen, it adds the flexibility families often need for naps, snacks, and slower mornings. Although we rented an Air B&B (that we loved!) for our last group trip, it’s on my bucket list to stay at the Pearl Hotel when we go back as a smaller unit.

4. Gatlinburg, Tennessee

Gatlinburg is one of the easiest quick Spring Break trips for families in the Southeast.

Cabin rentals give families space, kitchens, and plenty of indoor entertainment — which is perfect if you’re traveling with toddlers or unpredictable spring weather.

We opted for the Embassy Suites by Hilton Gatlinburg Resort, which was walking distance to the main downtown strip filled with arcades, restaurants, and the popular Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies.

The surrounding Great Smoky Mountains National Park also offers scenic drives and stroller-friendly nature walks. One of our favorite activities was riding the gondola up to Anakeesta Mountain for incredible views and kid-friendly attractions.

5. Evermore Resort in Orlando, Florida

Evermore Resort is an ideal option for families who want a resort-style vacation near the Orlando theme parks.

The property features spacious villas and houses with full kitchens, making it perfect for families who want the convenience of a resort with the comfort of a vacation rental.

The highlight is the massive lagoon-style pool that feels like a beach, plus many accommodations come with private pools, which is a huge win when traveling with kids.

We even took a quick day trip to Walt Disney World since it’s only a short drive away.

Because the villas come in different sizes, Evermore is also fantastic for multigenerational trips or group family vacations.

6. Sicily, Italy

While many families immediately think of mainland Italy, Sicily offers an incredible combination of authentic culture, coastal scenery, and charming towns that are surprisingly family-friendly.

We especially loved Taormina, with its cobblestone streets, colorful balconies, and relaxed restaurants where kids were genuinely welcomed.

If you visit Palermo, you’ll find beautiful historic architecture and some of the best food in Italy. In my full Sicily guide, I also share the local family photographer we used to capture memories from the trip — something I highly recommend if you’re traveling with little kids.
